George Sydnor Jr photo: Man held without bond in deadly stabbing of Virginia woman in DC's Ivy City Hotel
A DC Superior Court judge ordered a man accused of entering a woman’s hotel room and stabbing her nearly two dozen times held without bond Monday afternoon. The judge also found probable cause for first-degree murder charges.
An attorney for 43-year-old George Sydnor, Jr. said he would plead not guilty. Sydnor had his first appearance in court for the murder of 31-year-old Christy Bautista, who lived in Harrisonburg, Virginia but was from Arlington.
Court documents indicate Bautista was stabbed at least 22 times, with 30 total “sharp force injuries.”
