A popular Barstool Sports personality has been fired after reciting a racial slur from a song on air.

In an “Emergency Press Conference” video posted to Twitter, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy announced that Ben Mintz, known as Mintzy, has been let go. Mintz used the slur while reading song lyrics on his “Wake Up Mintzy” show on Monday.

“Bad news,” Portnoy said. “This sucks. So, today, we had to fire Ben Mintz or the artist formerly known as Ben. This stems from his ‘Wake Up With Mintzy.’
