J.B. Beasley and Tracie Hawlett trunk photo: Investigator who found murdered teens recounts fateful day, jury shown disturbing crime scene photos
During the fourth day of the Coley McCraney Murder trial, the jury heard from the first person to find the bodies of JB Beasley and Tracie Hawlett, who were shot to death in the summer of 1999, and a retired Ozark Police Officer
McCraney is accused of killing Beasley and Hawlett on July 31, 1999. The teens were found shot to death in the trunk of Beasley’s Mazda 929 on Herring Road in Ozark. The case went cold for 20 years until DNA on Beasley allegedly matched to McCraney and he was arrested in 2019.
Alton Miller, a retired juvenile investigator with the Dothan Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, was the second person to take the stand on Thursday.
